I aim to understand the principles of our biosocial minds and in doing so develop new analytical tools to decipher brain and behavior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>My plans for the fellowship period<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During my fellowship, I will deepen my understanding of how brain development is shaped by social environments, with a focus on the hippocampus. I&#8217;ll explore how household factors, abuse, and neglect influence its development and function. I\u2019m also excited to exchange ideas with other fellows and develop new approaches to studying the mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How will my work change children\u2019s and youth\u2019s lives?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During my fellowship, I aim to deepen our understanding of how early life experiences shape brain development. By studying how factors like household environment, abuse, and neglect affect the hippocampus, my research could lead to better interventions, support systems, and policies that promote healthier development in children. This work can help identify at-risk children earlier and provide them with the resources they need for improved mental health and cognitive development.
